MASTER HOMES HAS BEEN BUILDING GREEN SINCE 1985
The connotation of Building Green as taken a spin with respect to new homes since we started building Green in 1985. Then Green meant using recycled newspaper turning it into cellulous Insulation either sprayed into the wall cavities or blown in the attic. Cellulous was also used in a mix with gypsum for sheetrock. And the scrap wood strips left from saw milled tree’s after being cut into lumber was shaved & chipped into Oriented Strand Board (OSB) ½”4×8 sheeting and ¾” & Grove 4×8 sheeting for sub-flooring. Saving our Forrest and conserving energy.
Today, in new home construction most of these products are still being used but are being overshadowed by recycling furniture or other household items to save manufacturing energy consumption and considered to be Green Building techniques. Also, today using precise house placement for maximum Sun exposure or to take advantage of a prevailing wind to conserve energy is considered Green for new home construction as well as adaptable to existing homes. We called it Passive Solar Technology and still use this technology today. Master Homes has been building Green since 1985 and still use the available cost effective Green products in every new home we build. However some products in the Green family come with a premium price and cannot be used in order to keep our cost competitive,
We will gladly use in your new home any Green product available today. If it is not on our current materials list, Just ask and submit your request before construction and we at Master Homes will incorporate your request into your new home with a authorized change order.
